St Vincent DVD Review

DVD Review by Sean O’Flaherty
St Vincent
The Premise
A young boy whose parents just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic, war veteran who lives next door.

The Review
I loved Bill Murray before and now I love him even more!  This is a touching story with a load of humor but it has an edge to it. This is a gritty presentation of real life for an individual who has erected walls to protect themselves.

Naomi Watts as a Russian (or at least eastern European) pregnant whore / stripper is hilarious and somewhat disturbing at the same time.

I think at the end of the day the Jaeden Lieberher steals the show as the innocent and in his own way peculiar boy at the center of the story.  Beware he learns how to use some pretty ‘choice’ expletives.

The Verdict
Take your family, take your friends! This is one of the best movies I have seen in a while and I see a few.
